Information on Defense Law Group
|

I was going to use Defense Law Group to save my home, but after reading the post on here I changed my mind. But where can I get help to save my home? And how come they only have 3 complaints with the BBB if they are so bad?

Ann,
Three complaints may not sound like much, but it depends on the nature of the complaints. If it's three families that spent their last pennies (actually likely thousands of dollars) on a promised loan modification and then lost their home, then three or even one complaint is pretty serious business.
I don't know the specific nature of the complaints, so you may want to call the local BBB there for more info: http://www.seflorida.bbb.org/contact-us

As far as getting legit help goes, have you tried calling a HUD-approved nonprofit housing counselor? You can speak with a certified counselor by calling 888-995-4673. They can evaluate your housing options, open lines of communication with mortgage lenders, negotiate a loan modification, and help you with household budgeting, all at no cost.
The California Attorney General's press release on "forensic loan audits" is posted here on TrustLink under New Scams.
For more info on loan modification, check out the LABBB's Facebook page at: http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=177783022194
Specifically, check out the "Notes" on various loan mod topics and info that can apply to homeowners anywhere.
Also, check out the "loan modification" tagged questions here on this forum.
