Matthew Mascarenhas can tell you that he saves single moms and people with Cancer all he wants but the truth of the matter is that he is a scam artist that preys on people that are in crisis with their homes and then tells them whatever they want to hear. This man has no magic power with any bank. He also will not tell you the truth when asked directly about his Brokers license. Matthew has NO Brokers license in the State of Florida or any other state. He is also not associated with anyone that does. He is not allowed PER LAW to collect advanced fees for any home modification service and tells you that he can because he is a broker. This man is breaking the LAW right now. These are the facts of all current investigations against this man.
APPLICATION FOR LICENSE: This man has no valid license. Yes he is correct that at one time he did but that license was never renewed by the state. He is not currently a broker in any state. He has told people that he is allowed to collect advanced fees because he is a broker. There is no truth to this at all. Check your state laws!
AUG 2010: knowing full and well he was under investigation with the State of Florida he took a wire transfer from me and my wife then a check in Sept and Oct. In fact days before we paid him he had the state of Florida enter into his office under a subpoena and take files to prove their case against him.
Jan 21 2011: A order from the Department of Finance was entered with telling him that he must cease from any and all loan modifications as well as advertise and anything else related to loan modifications. He was also sanctioned $14,000 by the state of Florida and told to make restitution to his victims. He has not paid the state nor any of his victims. In fact the only person that has received money from him he told that he would return their money if they changed the information about him on Trustlink.
Feb 10, 2011: Matthew sent a fax to the Department of Finance that said this "I am no longer operating Millenium Mortgage Modifications and the company has been closed". Oh really? He also dissolved the LLC paperwork on file with the state of Florida. This man is STILL operating this company and that is a total lie. In fact he was supposedly doing our mod at this time.
After blowing the whistle on Matthew he entered all my private information over to many different sites on Google. He filled out many applications for lenders to call us stating that we wanted legal advice and home modifications done so that we would get flooded with calls. Of course he would know all about these services because he uses them to get his victims. In addition to his unlawful business you can now add identity theft. Most of these calls were routed from the Florida area because when you sign up it tags your IP. That was confirmed from Google.
Spend your money on a attorney that can actually help you or talk to a HUD person before EVER paying this man one dime. If he was a legit company he would never ask for money upfront. There is NO magic this person has and in most of the cases all he does is submit the paperwork that you yourself have filled out. In our case the bank conformed that all he did was to push the paperwork around and we were the ones that ended up faxing documents in the end.
He also has a total lack of regard for the law and continues to be in business even after receiving a sanction and order from the state. I guess he needs to be criminally charged and put in jail before he really gets it. I would think he is trying to get as much as he can before they come after him and close him down for good. We fell for it but don't you!!!
Also notice how he marks posts calling him a scammer as funny. I don't think being scammed is a laughing matter. Maybe he won't think it is so funny when he is sitting in jail.
